Before hydro jetting, a thorough inspection of the sewer line is conducted, often using a video camera. This helps identify the location and nature of any blockages or build-ups, such as grease, tree roots, or mineral deposits.
Once the problem areas are identified, the technician prepares the hydro jetting equipment. This includes a high-pressure hose with a specialized nozzle designed to direct powerful jets of water in all directions.
The hose is inserted into the sewer line through a cleanout access point. Water is then pumped at high pressure, typically ranging from 3,000 to 8,000 PSI (pounds per square inch), depending on the severity of the blockage and the condition of the pipes. The force of the water effectively scours the interior surfaces of the pipe, breaking down and flushing away debris.
After the hydro jetting process, another camera inspection may be conducted to ensure that the pipes are clean and free from obstructions.
